Donald Trump: Who is He?

Posted by courage On April - 20 - 2011

Nice Deb has a great write up about Donald Trump, complete with supporting links.  While I find Trump’s leap into the Obama birth certificate issue interesting, Trump is NO friend to liberty minded people.  In the last election cycle Trump donated money to Harry Reid’s campaign as he battled against Sharon Angle.  Anyone who would support Reid financially in his bid for re-election is NO friend to freedom or liberty.

After watching an unknown and  unvetted candidate win the last election, one would think that liberty minded people would be apprehensive of egotistical candidates popping onto the scene.  Check out Nice Deb’s link above and find out about the Donald.. as far as I’m concerned this false patriot is fired.

Will Trump be the stumble that dooms the Tea Party?

Trump, all bluster and bouffant, apotheosizes the dangers of co-option and conspiratorial irrelevance which could make the Tea Party stumble. For all his outsider claims, the New York celebrity has a great deal in common with the worst visions of sleazy cult-of-personality politicians. Writing amidst the Socialist revolution in France in the mid-1800s, Alexis de Tocqueville warned against a creature, a “half ape, half jackal,” who “remained silent while the majority were making up their minds,” and as soon as he judged a decision made, “rushed to place himself at their head, and often went far beyond them.” More than 150 years later, this species still exists.

LAS VEGAS – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, seeking to console liberal activists who were disappointed by the final version of the national health care law, assured them that there would eventually be a public option.

“We’re going to have a public option,” Reid said. “It’s just a question of when.”

Is this a surprise to anyone?  And it only gets better (from a progressive standpoint,) worse if you are a freedom loving American.  Reid as well as most Democrats continually sing the mantra that Social Security is “not broke.”  A classic case of progressives altering the meaning of commonly held words to suit their twisted ideology.  Anyone paying the slightest bit of attention knows the federal government has been pillaging the “trust” fund for decades to pay for other budget items/programs.

During a question and answer session, Reid also argued against “fear tactics of those who say Social Security is going broke. It’s not.”

“Social Security is the most successful social program in the history of the world,” he said.

My own infamous Representative Pete-I-love-Pork-Visclosky has made the same exact statement during town hall forums.  There must be a Democratic handbook which offers these buffoons talking points in order to bamboozle the American people.  What the Democrats refuse to acknowledge is that social security is hemorrhaging for the first time this year.

A report from the Congressional Budget Office shows that for the first time in 25 years, Social Security is taking in less in taxes than it is spending on benefits.

I’m thinking many of you had already heard that concerning news.

The money, according to the Congressional Budget Office, will completely run out in 2039.  Allow me to remind you that the CBO  inherently under-reports cost analysis of government programs. When projecting future economic trends the CBO adjusts numbers based on the assumption of growth in the economy including increases in the workforce, increased taxation, and uses other variables none of which are based in concrete facts.

In 2005, for example, CBO projected that Medicare would cost $1.5 trillion in 2050. Two years later, in 2007, the same CBO projected that this cost would reach $2.8 trillion in 2050. And in 2009, it projected that the cost would be $3 trillion instead. In other words, the program’s projected cost doubled in four years.

Nothing the CBO states as fact can be relied on as to any future reality.  Notoriously  all of government has mislead the American people in cost analysis, because they cannot predict what will happen 2 years from now and any assumptions are purely speculation.

The Social Security “trust” fund is in BIG trouble, it’s time we face this fact and figure out what to do.  The Dems want you living in a false reality, because they do not believe the American people can grasp, understand and accept the truth.  It’s time they stop coddling and become stateswomen/men, displaying honest fact based concern for the people they are elected to represent.

Senator Harry Reid is a Buffoon

Posted by courage On June - 3 - 2010

From the Washington Times:

During a press conference last Friday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, told reporters about a bipartisan amicus brief to the Supreme Court supporting the right of military families to bury the remains of their loved ones without being protested. I asked Mr. Reid if the same right to privacy should extend to private citizens whose homes are protested by public unions. Mr. Reid dodged the issue saying, “I don’t know anything about lawns and Bank of America executives.”

Of course, why would Reid know anything about the SEIU workers who stormed the home of a Bank of America lawyer and protested on his front lawn?  This act of terrorism by SEIU thugs was widely reported on by the media when it happened.

Are these congresscritters that disconnected from what is happening in this country or is his feigned ignorance because SEUI is intimately tied to the Democratic party and could be considered the enforcement arm of the party?

In any case.. Senator Reid, you are a buffoon!

Lieutenant Colonel Allen West on Harry Reid’s racist comments:

h/t Dr. Kate

Greetings,

The revelation of Senator Harry Reid’s comments referencing “negro talk” is just indicative of the true sentiment elitist liberals, and indeed the Democratic party, have toward black Americans. The history of the Democrat party is one of slavery, secession, segregation, and now socialism. It is this new aged socialism born from the Johnson Great Society programs that have castigated blacks as victims needing government dependency. One need only to look upon the city of Detroit to ascertain what liberal social welfare policies have produced for the inner city… the new plantation for black Americans.

Harry Reid fingerFrom the party which attempted to prevent the Civil Rights Act, the beast has risen its ugly head again as Senate Majority Leader Henry Reid shows his racism.

WASHINGTON – The top Democrat in the U.S. Senate apologized on Saturday for comments he made about Barack Obama‘s race during the 2008 presidential bid and are quoted in a yet-to-be-released book about the campaign.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described in private then-Sen. Barack Obama as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” Obama is the nation’s first African-American president.

“I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words. I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments,” Reid said in a statement released after the excerpts were first reported on the Web site of The Atlantic.

Quick shuffle there Henry, but to late the racist ideology you own has been exposed.  Since LBJ, the Democratic Party with its War on Poverty has continued to enslaved segments of the Africian-American, as well as other lower income individuals in the population, through enticed dependency on social programs.

Obama Clarifies: Job Stimulation is Health Care Reform

Posted by courage On December - 5 - 2009

head xrayHe hasn’t been ignoring job creation in the United States, because his health care reform the Pelosi/Reid health care initiatives are about job creation.

What has happened is a lot of the debate in Washington has been around health care, so people think, well, I guess they must not be working on jobs,” Obama said Friday in Allentown, Pennsylvania. “No, we’ve been working on jobs the whole time. Health care is part and parcel with where we need to take our economy.

Perhaps the President should consider how he will replace the doctors surveyed who stated they will retire early, instead of dealing with Pelosi/Reid health care. (previously discussed here)

Truly, I never realized the Congressional proposals were about creating jobs.. who knew?  I thought the health care initiatives were about denying procedures like mammograms and cutting off Medicare Advantage to seniors.

Unions Want Another Stimulus Package

Posted by courage On August - 30 - 2009

The summer IAM (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO) Journal featured a 9-page cover story entitled “JOBS NOW!”  Looking at this statement, how can anyone disagree?  No one could argue that having a job is a bad thing; it allows an individual the opportunity to make choices in life.  The disturbing aspect of this particular issue of the IAM is the union’s advocacy of a second stimulus package.

When I first read this issue of the IAM journal, I felt at a basic gut level that something was not right.  There has to be some intricate piece of the puzzle, I am missing.  Through the years I could not remember the union (whether the IAM or TCU or its lowest common denominator BRAC) taking such a forefront advocacy position on this gigantic of new legislation.  The union’s promotion of a second stimulus package was re-enforced with tear-out postcards addressed to the “friends” of Labor (sic) Senator Reid and Congresswoman Pelosi.

The more I shake my head at what is occurring in Washington with our elected officials, the more a tiny voice in me says, “follow the money.”

So down the rabbit hole.. guess what I found? Read the rest of this entry »
