White House: “Unaware of Rally” 912 DC

Posted by courage On September - 15 - 2009

After resizing some of the many pictures that were taken at the Tax Payers March on Washington, I thought you might enjoy getting a feel for the day.

Take a moment and read the signs, notice the common theme.  This protest was about how government is expanding at an alarming rate, how the deficit is ballooning out of sight and how average citizens  feel  their voices are not being heard by elected officials.

All contrary to what Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the squatters in Washington have been stating throughout the summer, with their rhetoric of imagined racism, delusional claims of protesters being unAmerican and continued insults to the American patriots psyche.  Time for them to wake-up…

These are the faces of AMERICANS !

Van Jones may be gone, but…

Posted by courage On September - 7 - 2009

Anyone paying attention knows Van Jones snuck out the back door of the White House on Saturday night; leaving in his wake a resignation letter meant to distract a country which has suddenly began to awaken.  The entire resignation letter can be found here.

An excerpt from the resignation letter..

“ On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me. They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide.” (emphasis mine)

Lies and distortions?  What exactly would those be Mr. Green Red Czar? Read the rest of this entry »

Remembering 9-11

There are moments for every generation which impact the psyche and remain firmly attached in the mind; sadly these moments are usually times that shake the foundation of the world as we know it.  As a young girl, I remember watching the funeral procession for JFK; as an adult, I remember the uncertainty as the horrendous acts of 9-11 shook everyone’s world.

It began as a typical day, suddenly rumors spread through the shop that planes were crashing into New York buildings.  Someone found a radio and we stayed glued to the newscasts attempting to understand what was occurring.  As the day progressed and more information was available, it became obvious that the United States was under attack.  The sky above the shop, normally busy with air traffic became eerily silent as the FAA grounded all public and private aircraft. Health Care: The President Speaks

So you tell me what happened? Where did things change? What about the transparency the President spoke of throughout his campaign?

Transparency according to Webster is:
2 a : free from pretense or deceit : frank b : easily detected or seen through : obvious c : readily understood d : characterized by visibility or accessibility of information especially concerning business practices

An individual can walk and talk all they want about lofty ideology, at some point if they do not follow through, if they so overtly deviate from their stated words well.. you be the judge.

Update:

The President speaks about open and free dialogue, specifically mentioning how this would disallow Congressional members to hide behind closed doors  “carrying water for the drug companies.”   Yet this NY Times article shows that the White House did exactly that.

no-vote_no-futureThe “Employee Free Choice Act” H.R. 1409 has already passed the House, currently the Senate version S.560 is in committee.

Perhaps I possess a unique perspective on this legislation, since I have been a union member for over the twenty-eight (28) years.  During these years I have been extremely active in the governance of my union (BRAC, now under the umbrella organization of the IAM) holding numerous official positions including: Recording Secretary, Vice President, President, and Local Chairperson at my facility.
