Senate to Vote on Health Care “Reform”

Posted by courage On November - 20 - 2009

Readers should already know my feelings on the proposed health care “reform” and take-over of 1/6th of the US economy.

Rumblings are being heard that Senator Reid will move to vote this Saturday.  He will be moving to have Senators vote on cloture, meaning that debate will be limited to 20 hours before voting on the bill.  How can legislation with devastating economic upheaval be rushed through without extended debate?  I believe it is because as more and more Americans learn of the actual impact on their individual lives, the more polls show that Americans do NOT want this terrible power grab.

New letters are available to copy and paste urging your Senator to vote NO on this legislation.  See top tool bar of this site under “sample letters”

In fact, if you have a letter you have written and would like to offer it to readers here.. you can either copy and paste the letter in the comment section of this post or send it along in the second new feature the contact link also on the very top tool bar.

The time is NOW to make your voices heard!

But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.

Transparency or the Joke is on the American Public

Posted by courage On October - 3 - 2009

Someone PLEASE explain how our duly elected officials, who by the way make much more than the average citizen, especially with million dollar “stipends” to cover their Congressional office budgets, cannot find the time to read bills before they vote on them?

Each year at the start of the Congressional session, these same officials are sworn in to office..

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Rotten ACORNS

Posted by courage On September - 26 - 2009

Acorn InvestigatedIn the Fall, we see acorns falling from trees.  Little did we know that the epitome of corruption and disregard of common decency ACORN (Assn. of Community Organizers for Reform Now), would be taking a header in to the defunding abyss.  Or is it?

The House on last Thursday, attached a “motion to recommit ” (MTR) to The Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act, the measure was called the “Defund ACORN Act.”  Many reading this are probably  thinking, “It’s about time,” yet there may be a snag in shaking the acorns from the Government tree.

Since the House Republicans chose to attach  ACORN defunding to a bill which for all intended purposes, has nothing to do with the with the original bill this may pose a large problem.  See after bills pass through both the House and Senate they go to joint committee where they hammer out a final bill, which is supposed to reflect the intent of the two separate bills.. a sort of Vulcan mind-meld.. that is of course assuming they have minds.  <sigh>  Since the Student Aid bill in the Senate contains nothing regarding the defunding of ACORN, in all likelihood this aspect of the bill will throw in to the trash.  So… outside of some “feel good” bravado, this means, excuse my language .. squat.

My letter to Senator Lugar on Health Care “reform”

Posted by courage On September - 7 - 2009

constitution_quill_penI encourage readers to contact their elected Congressional Representatives and voice your opinion on issues which effect them and this country.  I know some feel overwhelmed when attempting to compose letters.  The thing to remember is.. you are writing to YOUR employee, we pay their salary and they are in Washington to legislate according to the wishes of their constituents, US.  Now if they only hear from say, ProObama/Pelosi/Reid Health Care Activists, they will believe many of their constituents agree with the fascist  takeover of the Health Care industry.
