Dear <Senator, Congresswoman, Congressman with their name>,

When has any government initiated program ever stayed within the originally stated budget overlays?   From Amtrak to the Post Office, no government program stays within budget. The proposed legislation on Capital hill regarding Health Care “reform”, will not stay within budget and will only add to the federal deficit.  As a taxpayer, I find this completely unacceptable.

With the acknowledged yearly abuse/fraud of only Medicare reaching $60 billion dollars, what makes this Congress believe that any legislation it shoves down the throats of Americans will be different?  Oh yes, I know there will be government regulations to assist in stopping this abuse/fraud.  Then a responsible person must ask, “Why has this not been previously addressed by Congress?”  Fix the current system first before even considering a re-definition of health care, let alone a take-over of the system by the federal government.

Please write back with an answer as to why the fraud in Medicare has been ignored for years by Congress and why they have failed to address this issue.  Thank you for your time.

Sincerely yours,
