Yesterday there was a rally sponsored by Northwest Indiana Patriots (NWIP) at the office of the NON-representative Pete Visclosky.

The weather was cold windy and at times sleet pelted the patriots as they braved Mother Nature.  Approximately 50+   turned out for the protest.  We arrived at around 10:50am and immediately bundled up and hit the street. By 11:15, Broadway in front of Pete’s office was lined with flags. Countless (meanings 100′s) thumbs-up signs from passing motorists, accompanied with horns hooking NO to OBAMACARE, which helped warm up the patriots as they voiced opposition against the tyranny of the federal government. Every person was in good cheer, sharing gloves, extra coats, signs and flags; along with excellent dialogue regarding the country, it was pure patriotism.

More pics and further thoughts at break:

An interesting thing brought to my attention by a fellow patriot, whenever liberals gather to protest you never see a sea of American flags.  Perhaps they do not know the founding principles of this country are what grant them the right to protest?  Also more times than not, liberal’s protesting carry pre-made signs.. usually supplied by MoveOnOut or some local union hall which makes one wonder if they are creatively stymied?   So which group is really the Astroturf bunch.. hmm.. homemade signs or pre-printed slogans?

A couple of other interesting thoughts… a couple of the drivers who passed flipped us the bird; I’d like to thank them because we think, as patriots, we’re number 1.  Also for the woman who slowed her car and rolled her window down to shout.. “white racists.”  Well Ma’am, you have done a disservice to the incidents of true racism which occur in this country and have helped to forever change, in my mind, the implications of the word.  Certain words should never be used without evidence to support the charge; willy nilly tossing this word out dilutes the word from any concrete meaning.  Peaceful protest to an unconstitutional mandate of health care insurance is nothing but patriotism, thank you very much.

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.

Final thought, isn’t it odd that in the 1970’s the Democrats were all about body autonomy for women with their support of Roe v. Wade.  Flash forward 40 years and they want to control every aspect of an individual’s body through mandated minimum requirements for health care coverage?
