Lieutenant Colonel Allen West on Harry Reid’s racist comments:

h/t Dr. Kate

The revelation of Senator Harry Reid’s comments referencing “negro talk” is just indicative of the true sentiment elitist liberals, and indeed the Democratic party, have toward black Americans. The history of the Democrat party is one of slavery, secession, segregation, and now socialism. It is this new aged socialism born from the Johnson Great Society programs that have castigated blacks as victims needing government dependency. One need only to look upon the city of Detroit to ascertain what liberal social welfare policies have produced for the inner city… the new plantation for black Americans.

Who with half a brain cell did not see this coming?  Even without a law degree, any American who has a fundamental understanding of our judicial system, our laws and th e Constitution expected, while hoping against,  this action by the court.  I find this a dark insidious stain which I fear will be played out in all civilian trials of Gitmo detainees.

WASHINGTON (AP) – A federal judge has tossed out most of the government’s evidence against a terrorist detainee on grounds his confessions were coerced, allegedly by U.S. forces, before he became a prisoner at Guantanamo Bay.

In a ruling this week, U.S. District Judge Thomas Hogan also said the government failed to establish that 23 statements the detainee made to interrogators at Guantanamo Bay were untainted by the earlier coerced statements made while he was held under harsh conditions in Afghanistan.

Shrinking U.S. Labor Force Keeps Unemployment Rate From Rising

Posted by courage On January - 10 - 2010

Jan. 9 (Bloomberg) — An exodus of discouraged workers from the job market kept the U.S. unemployment rate from climbing above 10 percent in December, economists said.

Had the labor force not decreased by 661,000 last month, the jobless rate would have been 10.4 percent, according to economists including David Rosenberg at Gluskin Sheff & Associates in Toronto and Harm Bandholz at UniCredit Research in New York.

The decrease in the labor force is a result of workers opting out of the unemployment system; frustrated with what is viewed as a poor labor market, individuals are giving up their search to find work.

“The actual unemployment rate is higher than shown by the official numbers,” Bandholz said yesterday after a Labor Department report released in Washington showed the economy unexpectedly lost 85,000 jobs in December while the jobless rate was unchanged.(emphasis mine)

About 1.7 million Americans opted out of the workforce from July through December, representing a 1.1 percent drop that marks the biggest six-month decrease since 1961, the Labor Department report showed. The share of the population in the labor force last month fell to the lowest level in 24 years.

December’s 10 percent unemployment rate matched the median forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. It was shy of the 26-year high of 10.1 percent reached two months earlier.

The so-called underemployment rate — which includes part- time workers who’d prefer a full-time position and people who want work but have given up looking — rose to 17.3 percent in December from 17.2 percent.(emphasis mine)

The underemployment rate is a statistic our elected officials do not want to talk about because it vividly shows the bleak underbelly of the financial problems in the country.  Businesses are not expanding, in fact they are contracting because of the uncertainty surrounding legislation in Washington.  What business owner would expand their employee base when the horizon points to increased tax burden on their business, such as the payroll health care tax?  Business owners also know, the piper must be paid for the fiscal irresponsibility in Washington and Democrats, who currently control the Congress, always place businesses in the cross-hairs when looking to tax.

The number of discouraged workers, those not looking for work because they believe none is available, climbed to 929,000 last month, the most since records began in 1994.

Yes, the American people are discouraged.  Is it any wonder that only 32% of eligible voters feel confident that Congress represents their best interest?

Harry Reid fingerFrom the party which attempted to prevent the Civil Rights Act, the beast has risen its ugly head again as Senate Majority Leader Henry Reid shows his racism.

WASHINGTON – The top Democrat in the U.S. Senate apologized on Saturday for comments he made about Barack Obama‘s race during the 2008 presidential bid and are quoted in a yet-to-be-released book about the campaign.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described in private then-Sen. Barack Obama as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” Obama is the nation’s first African-American president.

“I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words. I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments,” Reid said in a statement released after the excerpts were first reported on the Web site of The Atlantic.

Quick shuffle there Henry, but to late the racist ideology you own has been exposed.  Since LBJ, the Democratic Party with its War on Poverty has continued to enslaved segments of the Africian-American, as well as other lower income individuals in the population, through enticed dependency on social programs.

Update at end…

hard hat

“No tax on the middle class,” was the Obama mantra prior to the election.  Did you union, blue collar workers feel all comfy cozy that you would not see more money flushed down the toilet in Washington?  Ha.. little did you know..  buddy you aren’t middle class, you’re one of those in the elite snotty upper class that the real middle class thinks deserves to be hit with increased taxes.  What you only make around $45,000 or $55,000/ year.. tough, Washington needs help paying for their health care reform ( what Senator can we bribe now) legislation.

WASHINGTONPresident Barack Obama signaled to House Democratic leaders Wednesday that they’ll have to drop their opposition to taxing high-end health insurance plans to pay for health coverage for millions of uninsured Americans.

In a meeting at the White House, Obama expressed his preference for the insurance tax contained in the Senate’s health overhaul bill, but largely opposed by House Democrats and organized labor, Democratic aides said. The aides spoke on condition of anonymity because the meeting was private.  (emphasis mine)

Something most union workers do not know.. what does the health care plan you have cost the company?  Hmmm… puzzled?

Here’s a scenario, approximately 8 years ago my union was told by the company that our health care cost them $1,200 per month/ employee which they used as a bargaining chip to lower pay increases.

Madam Speaker… YOU LIE !

Posted by courage On January - 6 - 2010

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) defended Congress’ work on a healthcare bill Tuesday saying the process has displayed historic transparency, just as C-SPAN mounts an effort to open the negotiations.

C-SPAN wrote a letter to congressional leaders Tuesday asking that TV cameras be allowed to film negotiations to reconcile the House and Senate versions of healthcare reform legislation.

But Pelosi said Congress has already been transparent throughout the process.

“There has never been a more open process for any legislation,” Pelosi said at a press conference. (emphasis mine)

How can she even begin to say this with a straight face?  What can only be described as backroom deals which resulted in bribes for key Senatorial votes, that is “transparency?”  Congress believes the American people fools and unable to see through the blatant corruption that now overflows, like a backed up sewer from Washington.

Pelosi also hinted that holding informal negotiations–likely without TV cameras–might be the most practical way to push the legislation through.

“We will do what is necessary to pass the bill,” Pelosi said.

I’m sure you will, including.. additional bribes, threats and guarantees to particular caucus groups which cater to special interests.  Can we say… Immigration reform, instead of actually enforcing the current laws.

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), assistant to the Speaker, said the healthcare bill had been “subjected to unprecedented level of public scrutiny.”(emphasis mine)

And what have the American people been consistently saying the summer?  They don’t want Congress or the administration cramming this insane bill through Congress.  Most recent Rasmussen poll shows, 42% of registered voters are in favor of reform, while 52% oppose.  I would suggest that the public scrutiny is only the accumulated efforts of patriots, who spent countless hours pouring over the legislation and digging through the 2,000 plus page documents;   something that many elected officials did not even bothered to do, before voting in favor of the bill in the House.  Case in point, my own slime ball non-representative Visclosky, whose own office told me you had to be “special,” to read the legislation.

“We don’t even know if there’s going to be a conference committee,” he said, alluding to the likelihood that Democrats will reconcile the two bills behind closed doors.
Pressed on whether C-SPAN cameras would be allowed in negotiations, Van Hollen hedged.

How many time did Obama state that the hearings on health care would be transparent?  He suggested repeatedly all the negotiations would be  carried on CSpan, now we are subject to corruption and special interests groups having a seat at the table , while the voice of the American people is ignored.

Mr. President and Congress… it is you who are without shame!  The American people see this and 2010 will be the start of the cleaning process to remove the dirt, the shameless and the corruption from Congress.

Democrats Health Care Vote Hinges on Immigration Reform

Posted by courage On January - 6 - 2010

Pay-offs and bribes have become the norm for the Democratic controlled Congress.  Where once these shenanigans were perpetrated behind closed-doors, the self-righteous gluttons of the Democratic party are exposing the slime to the light of day.  Make no mistake, previously the GOP have also been party to these shameless vote pay-off schemes.  Yet the overt nature of the “give-me mine” dealings of the Democrats goes to new, never before seen lows.. lets call it historic, since the Democrats seem to embrace this terminology even when describing violations to the United States Constitution.

Government Payroll Exceeds Good-Producing Workers

How The Government Payroll Replaced Goods-Producing Jobs

Government jobs

This should serve as a wake-up to anyone still suffering the delusional idea that the country and the economy are headed in right direction.   The government as employer exerts coercion as a means of livelihood.    I heard a talking head over the weekend mention that the federal government is increasing its employee rolls by 10,000 people per month; that is 10,000 people monthly who now have vested interest in maintaining and propagating the expansion of their employer.   When the master of the people is the government, we have tyranny.
