Leadership in a Vacuum.. Obama Continues to Campaign

Posted by courage On April - 18 - 2010

Where is pResident Obama? His first duty, indeed his top responsibility as commander-in chief, is to safeguard the United States against threats leveled by the extremists of the world.. aka terrorists.  Obama would rather gallivant across the country preforming at town hall meetings, championing health care legislation.  Ahh Mr. pResident, that legislation passed, so could you perhaps start governing and quit campaigning?  Why am I sure the pResident is displaying extreme detachment from his duties as commander-in-chief?  The most telling is Defense Secretary Gates recently leaked and reported on in the NY Times a memo which states:

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates has warned in a secret three-page memorandum to top White House officials that the United States does not have an effective long-range policy for dealing with Iran’s steady progress toward nuclear capability, according to government officials familiar with the document.

Iran’s focus and desperation to acquire nuclear weapons to, “wipe Israel from the map,” could potentially create an Armageddon scenario, with Israel defending herself the only logical response.  Do not think for one second that Israel will go quietly into the night, nor should they.  A nuclear armed Iran is an extreme danger to the entire world and could facilitate a nuclear war in the entire Middle East, which would inevitability change the course of civilization.   You think the volcano in Iceland is playing havoc with world travel, just think of the implications of a full nuclear war in the Mid East.

Talks with Iran and the attempt by the administration to rally countries around sanctions have all but dissolved, except in the mind of the pResident.  As a country we need a President who understands that there is evil in the world and that evil hates us as a nation, solely because of the freedoms we embrace… in essence the people we are.

The  perpetual campaign behavior of the pResident needs to be stowed in his basement on the southside of Chicago.  We, as a nation, need a commander-in chief who governs from a position of strength, who leads and is unapologetic to the world.

We, as a nation are still waiting…

The Obama Chart… Circumventing the Constitution

Posted by courage On April - 17 - 2010

The founding fathers displayed great wisdom in creating our republic.  They knew, from first hand experience, how absolute control corrupts and enslaves a population, depriving the citizenry of freedom.  They established a system of checks and balances to assure that our representative government would not be overtly powerful in any of the three branches of government.  One can only wonder, what they would have thought of the following chart and how the administration is  using all means available to circumvent the Constitutional protections granted to the people.

I happened across an excellent piece written by Phil Kerpen which explains the Obama chart precisely

Here it comes… who didn’t realize that taxes would be a result of the horrendous health care law they recently passed?  Tax paying citizens can only pay so much before their budget is spread so thin that it snaps… that snap is on the horizon, while the state is currently solvent this fact will become mute as million dollar burdens are hoisted on the backs of Hoosiers.  And Pete Visclosky, the pay-to-play transient resident from Indiana can take the blame for his part in all this.

INDIANAPOLIS | While the most costly provisions of federal health reform won’t take effect until 2014, state officials determined Indiana’s budget will pay a price starting this summer.

That’s because the new health law takes money from prescription drug rebates currently paid to state Medicaid programs and redirects those funds to the federal government.

As a result, Indiana will lose $25 million during the 2011 budget year, which begins in July, and as much as $400 million during the next decade, said Anne W. Murphy, secretary of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.  (emphasis mine)

Bayh Starts to Spend War Chest

Posted by courage On March - 23 - 2010

From The Hill:

Retiring Sen. Evan Bayh has donated $1 million to help elect Rep. Brad Ellsworth, who is running to succeed him.

Bayh (D-Ind.), who announced in February he won’t run for re-election this fall after amassing a $13 million re-election fund, described the donation as an attempt to help Ellsworth win his seat.

“This is a million dollar vote of confidence in Brad Ellsworth and Indiana Democrats,” Bayh said in a statement released by the Indiana Democratic Party. “Though I am leaving the Senate at the end of my term, I am determined to help Brad Ellsworth and the 2010 Democratic ticket with the financial resources they need to run a successful campaign.”

Anyone really surprised at this move?  Read the entire article at the link above.

I think this began the transforming of the country the way the president had promised. This is what he ran on.” And if that transformation is socialism, then so be it, he explained. That is what the American public “overwhelmingly” voted for.

There you have it.. SOCIALISM.

The truth is often presented during unexpected times.  Without warning it slaps us and shatters the beliefs we hold.  During these times, we cling to denial as a comfort yet it only temporarily shields us from the truths we intrinsically know.

The chains of slavery, the loss of freedom as this administration systematically and with purpose takes control of every aspect of our lives.  This administration believes they must  infantilize us and be the patriarchal father, all knowing.. all supreme.  As children we have no option to state opinion on our own lives, oh no, they know what is best for us.

But WE refuse this label you place on us. WE do not need their care taking and soiled condescension.  It reeks of tyranny.

WE  have tasted, breathed and lived FREEDOM.  With this knowledge, WE decide our own future, with each decision and at each turn. WE are determined to fight this blatant and offensive  assault to our autonomy and lives.  WE also know that this is only the start of their egoistical agenda to control us.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
—C. S. Lewis, 1953

WE-THE-PEOPLE control our lives. We believe in the United States and the fundamental brilliance of the Constitution.  WE-THE-PEOPLE will fight tyranny.  WE will prevail.
