Lets  look at what Senator Kerry asserts  …

Congress Taken Hostage.

Really?  Isn’t the point of debate in Congress to bring forth divergent  ideology, allowing for a subject to be thoroughly explored prior to a vote?  I suppose the Senator would rather  mindless and unexplored voting regardless of the consequences.

Frontpage names the TEA PARTY the Person of the Year

Posted by courage On January - 2 - 2011

From Frontpage:

Over the past few years, while atrophy of the welfare state system has spurred violent protests in Western Europe, the United States has experienced a parallel, but remarkably distinct phenomenon. In early 2009, desperate Greeks rioted in the streets to demand that their overextended government do more for them in the face of financial crisis. Americans, at the same time, rallied across the nation for their government to do less. More than any one individual alone in 2010, this movement, the Tea Party movement, wrought tremendous change over the political landscape, realizing a historic election and revitalizing the American zeitgeist. The title of FrontPage Magazine’s Person of the Year, therefore, must be bestowed collectively on these individuals, the formidable torchbearers of our beloved liberty and prosperity.

Two days after the newly-elected President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the stimulus bill) into law February 19th, the Tea Party movement found its voice — in the unlikeliest of places. A little-known CNBC analyst, Rick Santelli, embarked on a spontaneous rant while delivering a market forecast live on air. His harangue was precipitated by the federal government’s decision to stem the 2009 housing and financial crisis with a series of unprecedented “bailouts” for Wall Street and the banking industry, financed by taxpayer revenue. “How many of you people want to pay for your neighbor’s mortgage, that has an extra bathroom and can’t pay their bills?” Santelli wailed, turning to the gallery of traders on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade. The crowd jeered. “President Obama, are you listening?” Apparently, he was not. Santelli proceeded to flippantly claim he was considering organizing a “Chicago Tea Party” to protest government spending and the apparent collectivization of wealth.

Tea Party Nation is a Sham Patriot Organization

Posted by courage On December - 12 - 2010

I take issue with the Tea Party Nation, the self-imposed grand poobah
Judson Phillips seeks to dilute attention away from Patriots laser sharp
focus of fiscal responsibility to include social issues.
I would suggest that Tea Party Patriots have been so successful in
informing the populace of the shenanigans being perpetrate on the
American people because of its clear focus on fiscal responsibility and
its call for Constitutional adherence by elected officials. The wave
of support for the Tea Party Movement continues to grow, according to
Rasmussen in October 41% of polled eligible voters view the Tea Party
movement favorably with 47% stating the movement is good for the
country. For a movement whose birth was less than 2 years ago, these
numbers are astounding.

Ignoring the Constitution and the Will of Voters

Posted by courage On July - 28 - 2010

The Massachusetts Legislature has approved a new law intended to bypass the Electoral College system and ensure that the winner of the presidential election is determined by the national popular vote.

“What we are submitting is the idea that the president should be selected by the majority of people in the United States of America,” Senator James B. Eldridge, an Acton Democrat, said before the Senate voted to enact the bill.

Wonder how the people of Massachusetts feel knowing that their vote for president may now be decided by individuals in major metropolitan areas, far removed from Massachusetts?

Under the law, which was enacted by the House last week, all 12 of the state’s electoral votes would be awarded to the candidate who receives the most votes nationally.

Memorial Day 2010

Posted by courage On May - 31 - 2010

Memorial Day was first celebrated on May 30, 1868, after the Civil war.  When the day was first celebrated it was referred to as Decoration Day.  The honoring of fallen soldiers was marked by placing flowers on their graves.  The original date of May 30th was chosen because it was at this time of year all areas of the country would have flowers in bloom.

The term Memorial Day was declared a national holiday in 1967.  The May 30th date was changed on June 28, 1968 when Congress passed the Uniform Holidays Act which moved three holidays to specific Mondays of months to create three day weekends, with the law taking effect on the federal level in 1971.

Today Memorial Day celebrates all those currently in the Armed Services, Veterans, in addition to our fallen soldiers who have given the most extreme sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy.

In honor of those who serve, have served and have fallen in the line of duty, please reflect a moment on how through their service we have a nation where we have unprecedented freedoms and liberty in the United States.

Undoubtedly the most recognize bugle piece in the world, the haunting and sombering twenty-four notes of taps reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice fellow Americans have given while defending freedom.
