Happy New Year 2010 !

Posted by courage On January - 1 - 2010

Statue of liberty fireworksThe welcoming of the New Year traditionally begins with a retrospective analysis of the previous year, culminating with resolutions focused on positive actions we hope to initiate as we embark on a New Year.

From my perspective the previous year has been one of awakening; the casting off of limiting self-identities and the emergence of a more inclusive understanding of how I interact with my world.  I have traveled from the victim laden identity of Democrat to the freeing identity of PUMA, which has evolved to the embracing and more accurate understanding of me as a Patriot.

The previous year has further solidified my redefinition of political correctness.  Where once I thought PC as catalysis for change, I know see most instances where it is applied as attempts to silence honest discussion.  Far too often the PC police will move from a logic based discussion to a rant, filled with name calling and attempts to shame my particular perspective and truth into submission.

Health Care Bill and Bribery of Public Officials

Posted by courage On December - 22 - 2009

constitution-gavelIn the cover of darkness, the Senate voted to initiate cloture on the health care bill which starts the clock ticking and limits debate.  One must wonder, how limitations on debate can be initiated when the 2,000 plus page bill had not even been fully read by the Senators?  How do I know this, you ask?  The final draft of the bill was only available hours before the call for cloture and any reasonable person knows it is impossible to have read the bill in the time allotted.

So why the rush to this “historic” moment?  PORK; special considerations, gifts, bribes to swing Senators who previously had reservations regarding aspects of the bill.  The more obvious bribes are finding the light of day.  Michelle Malkin is doing an excellent job exposing the insidious assault taking place against the American people, now known as cash for cloture across the net, check out her site to see the latest list of Democratic atrocities.

Over the last 24 hours, myself and at least 3 other individuals have thought or mentioned how the bribes used to secure the move for cloture, bears an eerie resemblance to the Illinois scandal  of former Governor Rod Blagojevich, in that he allegedly attempted to gain financial reward through  the “selling of Obama’s Senate seat.”  It’s the typical Chicago-way, I’ve got something you want.. how much will you give me for it?  How is what the Senators who received special favors any different?  They held (their vote) for cloture as the prize and sold it to Reid for special consideration of sweat deals in the health care legislation.

Lets take a quick visit to Federal U.S. Code 201. Bribery of public officials and witnesses:

Bribery of Public Officials

While I am not an attorney, nor do I play one on this blog.. from what I’m reading, each and every Senator who sold their vote for gain should be criminally charged.  What do you think?

The Federalist Papers and Our Present Loss of a Republic

Posted by courage On December - 20 - 2009

Over the course of the last few months I have been reading the Federalist Papers; it has been a slow read for me, the wording of the time period is different and consequentially at times, grasping the authors meaning becomes a laborious task.  Yet I am continually awed,  the foresight of these founding fathers and the  formidable task they undertook to dissect and examine the very tenets of the proposed Constitution. So what exactly are the Federalist Papers?

The Federalist Papers were a series of eighty-five essays urging the citizens of New York to ratify the new United States Constitution. Written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay, the essays originally appeared anonymously in New York newspapers in 1787 and 1788 under the pen name “Publius.” A bound edition of the essays was first published in 1788, but it was not until the 1818 edition published by the printer Jacob Gideon that the authors of each essay were identified by name. The Federalist Papers are considered one of the most important sources for interpreting and understanding the original intent of the Constitution.

What Is Congress Doing? The Manic Spending Has To Stop!

Posted by courage On December - 13 - 2009

The Senate is set to vote on their version of  an Ominbus bill today.  The House passed their version of the bill on Thursday. The House bill was a …

…1,088-page, $1.1 trillion measure would provide $447 billion in operating budgets for 10 Cabinet departments, awarding increases averaging almost 10 percent. On top of that comes more than $600 billion in payments for federal benefit programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

The 221-202 vote to approve the House-Senate compromise bill sends it to the Senate, which may pass it this weekend and ship it on to President Barack Obama. Not a single Republican voted for the bill.

The generosity comes on top of an infusion of cash to domestic agencies in February’s economic stimulus bill and a $410 billion measure in March that also bestowed budget increases well above inflation. (emphasis mine)

When is the Congress going to understand that deficit spending will ruin the economy?  Back in February Representative Jim McGovern, Democrat of Massachusetts, said that spending bill

Let Obama OWN Climate Regulations

Posted by courage On December - 10 - 2009

Obama has been advocating stringent controls placed on just about everything related to your present environment.  Look around.. what do you see?  Are your lights on?  Is your heat running?  Do you have a refrigerator?  How about transportation, do you own a car?   Are you a home owner?  Aspects of each item that adds comfort or makes your life fundamentally possible are going to be effected should climate change (cap and trade) legislation pass the Senate.

In a more indirect manner, what about food?  Do you buy clothes?  For that matter, just think anything you purchase, are you ready to pay higher prices across the board for these items?  If cap and trade passes, everything.. read that again EVERYTHING in your life will increase in price.  As electricity costs rise, as the price of energy increases, the cost to produce everything around you will increase.  Manufactures will pass the cost of doing business down to the lowest common denominator, you the consumer.

No this issue has not gone away, in fact today there is a protest of bringing these scumbags to the United States for a criminal trial.  While I am not physically there, I may there in support of the individuals who are protesting this heinous move by Obama and Holder.

Why are the rights afforded United States citizens being given to murderous terrorists, especially when they were captured on the battle field?  We have arrogant narcissists in the administration whose focus is clear on one thing.. giving terrorists the very freedoms, they are attempting to take away from us!

Three Navy Seals are set to be arraigned on Monday, for allegedly punching a Iraqi terrorist.

Not just any terrorist…

Three Navy SEAL commandos, who recently captured one of the most-wanted terrorists in Iraq, are now being charged criminally by the Navy for giving the terrorist a bloody lip.

The captive is Ahmed Hasim Abed, who was codenamed “Objective Amber.” He’s the alleged mastermind of the capture, mutilation and deaths of four Blackwater security guards in 2004.

Yep, these three soldiers are heroes! And yet, the Obama admin is moving forward with military trials, I swear the world has turned upside down.

While I’m at it..  do NOT tell the American public how great a religion Islam is or how it is interwoven in to the fabric of our society…

“The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans,” he said in the speech. “Many other Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim-majority country – I know, because I am one of them.”

September 1, 2009

The contribution of Muslims to the United States are too long to catalog because Muslims are so interwoven into the fabric of our communities and our country.

As we know, these men belonged to al Qaeda — a group of extremists who have distorted and defiled Islam, one of the world’s great religions, to justify the slaughter of innocents. (emphasis mine)

We get where your alliances are, at a gut level we do intrinsically understand.

Climate Change Data Dumped… Time to Dump Cap and Trade

Posted by courage On November - 30 - 2009

From the UK Times Online:

SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.

It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.

The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation.

The data went in to the trash making replication impossible for  honest scientists.  Why is this important?  Without the raw data it is impossible to validate the conclusions the UEA made regarding the climate change.  Furthermore the the publicly released emails point to collusion and intentional deceit on the part of these scientists. What scientist throws away data they have collected for decades and have made their life’s work?  I’ll answer this question.. NONE, unless you have something to hide.

Their findings are one of the main pieces of evidence used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which says global warming is a threat to humanity.

What is the GOP thinking?

Posted by courage On November - 28 - 2009

Have you seen the recent Republican National Committee litmus test flung across the internet ? Apparently 10 leaders of the RNC are seeking ratification on a litmus test to purge and deny funding to those who do not agree with at least 7 of the 10 points.

From the New York Times:

According to the resolution, any Republican candidate who broke with the party on three or more of these issues– in votes cast, public statements made or answering a questionnaire – would be penalized by being denied party funds or the party endorsement. (emphasis mine)

Does the GOP plan on scouring documents, press conferences and other public statements to determine the validity of true GOP blood?  Onward in the NY Times article:
